![]() Hacking away on a side project the other day, my friend (who is a web developer by trade) was watching over my shoulder. (There’s a reason they call it “hacking” I guess.) Over the past few years, I have clawed and scratched my way to an understanding of Python, Django, HTML, Javascript and CSS through many hours of trial and error. I’ve never been paid to write code, but I really love it and have a number of side projects that I work on for fun. You will probably want to go ahead and configure the repository by running “fossil ui” from the fossil directory, which will log you in as the administrator.I started doing web development pretty late in life – I was 24 when I started. Once you realise how explicit you must be, it works very well. Setting up Lighttpd with Fossil through CGI is surprising fiddly, as you must property setup all the directories. Test out your new setup, by running the TestMode batch file, and going to the URL, you should see the following: We need to actually create the rep.fossil file. Place the fossil.exe in c:/fossil/ directory, open a command prompt, and go to the directory. In this instance, I have the binary file in c:/fossil/, along with my rep.fossil repository file. But you still need to specify where the binary is. On my setup, I have made available the Fossil.exe file as an environment variable, so that I can run it from anywhere. As you probably already know, it is completely stand alone. Fossilĭownload the appropriate Fossil.exe binary file from here. In this instance I am keeping my fossil repository in c:/fossil, with the script file for fossil in htdocs of the lighttpd directory. The request for rep.fossil, will go to the repository test.fossil, which can be placed anywhere. ![]() I have called this script file “rep.fossil”, and it’s contents are simply: ![]() We need to create this file, which is a script file that the fossil binary will understand. fossil file will pass the fossil file into fossil.exe, and return the request. We will add our own Ĭgi.assign = (".fossil", => "c:/fossil/fossil.exe",) We need to define what request gets forwarded to where. With the WLMP Project distribution, the following section comes commented out: Once this is enabled, we then need to assign what sort of file request gets handled by the Fossil binary. If you are using the WLMP Project distribution, this already comes commented out, but may not even be listed if you acquired it another way. ![]() Enable this by removing the comment marker # for CGI: Secondly, we need to enable mod_cgi in the lighttpd config file. Server.document-root = "c:/program files/lighttpd/htdocs"Ĭhange your document root to the appropriate location. Unfortunately there is no support for FastCGI at present.įirst of all, we need to say where the document root is as a full path for this to work properly with Fossil and CGI. Most of the configuration for this distribution of lighttpd exists in conf/nf.įossil needs to run behind CGI, and is apparently fast enough to handle a lot of requests when running in this setup. By default, lighttpd binds to port 80, and this will need to be free before it will run properly, and will in most cases provided you have no other web servers installed. Once downloaded, and either unzipped or installed, you can test the server by running the batch file “TestMode” in the root of the lighttpd directory. The WLMP Project distributes the binaries for lighttpd for you to download, and can be downloaded here. Lighttpdįirst you will need to download lighttpd for windows. Here’s how to set it up Fossil with lighttpd in windows running as a service. This is not a breeze with git in windows, but fortunately, it is much easier with Fossil. Nevertheless, I find sometimes I need to setup a central repository for me and everyone else to push to and pull from. Although, any workflow git can pull of, so can fossil. Git is still much preferable for large scale mass projects, such as large projects hosted on github. It’s very suitable for a lot of smaller workflows. I am just really enjoying Fossil SCM with various small projects I have been using it with. ![]() The second starting of the computer, at the blue screen, the spinning dots appear and Windows 10 loads. After taking a huge leap the year before, Allen’s on-target rate fell by five percentage points and his completion rate by six points last season, contributing to a decline of more than a yard in YPA (6.8, 24th). Read Past OutlooksĪllen’s efficiency regressed last season, but passing volume and rushing production were enough to make him the first quarterback since Daunte Culpepper (2003-04) to lead the position in fantasy scoring in back-to-back years. Nevertheless, Allen should again challenge for QB1 in fantasy thanks to his potentially league-leading combination of pass and rush attempts. In the backfield, Buffalo replaced Devin Singletary with Damien Harris, who has 105 fewer career catches and could take more of the goal-line carries. Gabe Davis disappointed last season, and while the team drafted Dalton Kincaid in the first round to join Dawson Knox, the learning curve for rookie tight ends is usually steep. The only negative is a receiving corps that looks dicey behind standout WR Stefon Diggs. ![]() That works well enough when a QB gets healthy passing volume, completes passes downfield and adds elite rushing production. Allen’s completion rate held steady at 63.3 percent, though it again was far off his impressive 2020 percentage (69.2). Allen attempted 79 fewer passes than he did the previous year, in part because he played 16 games instead of 17, making up for it by increasing his YPA from 6.8 to 7.6 (8th) while his average target depth jumped a full yard to 9.2 (3rd). He came within 124 passing yards, one TD pass and one rushing yard of matching his 2021 numbers (and, like in 2021, the Bills lost in the divisional playoffs). Allen fell just short last year in his bid to three-peat as the top fantasy QB, finishing second with a remarkably similar season to the one before despite playing through an injury to his throwing elbow. ![]() This is a release weve been awaiting a long time but does it deliver and is it the port the. The team built six normal dolls, plus a variety of stunt toys, and individual body parts. “Practical things, for whatever reason, seem to touch us more,” he adds. The doll is, for the most part, totally tactile - not computer animation - save for some enhancements to his eyes. To understand how a toy from a store works, Masters “hacked up a bunch of dolls” and found the key to making Chucky an emotionally compelling character is keeping him real. They explored simple ways the new life form would learn pain and discover the real world around him. With a toddler’s naiveté in mind, Masters, his team and designer Einar Martinsen aimed to not over-animate Chucky and turn him into some hyperactive puppet. “How he’d look at Lars with his big eyes and subtle emotions.” “He’d talk a lot about his young son, and how curious he was and how he’d take in information,” Masters says. The concept for the re-imagined character began with discussions with the film’s Norwegian director, Lars Klevberg, who found a nontraditional inspiration for a freaky horror villain: his 3-year-old child. So, we kind of took the corporate polish off it, and kept removing parts of it and made it more and more simplistic.” Chucky from the 1988 movie “Child’s Play” ©United Artists/Everett Collection “Think about how that logo got simpler over time and now you can barely even tell it’s a mermaid. “We kind of thought of it as the Starbucks logo,” Masters says. “His costume is still striped, and he’s still got the suspenders.”īut, he adds, “There’s other stuff that we definitely wanted to make sure that we weren’t too close to.” “There’s definitely some respect paid toward the original design,” says Todd Masters, president of MastersFX, the firm that created the doll. ![]() So, while you’ll recognize aspects of the toy that gave you nightmares, he’s really Chucky 2.0. Now, for a more technologically advanced era, Chucky’s bloodlust is a factory defect. In the 1988 original, a voodoo curse sent the soul of a Chicago murderer into a children’s toy which went on a revenge killing spree. The scary film isn’t just another tweaked reboot, but a completely different take on the iconic character. Yes, the ginger-haired, maniacal doll is back in theaters for the first time since 2004’s “Seed of Chucky” in the new movie “Child’s Play.” (The last two entries in the franchise were direct-to-video.) Given the raucous backdrop, it was no surprise to see those in navy blue on the front foot. As men and women of all shapes, sizes and ages leapt about to Baccara, Scotland’s value to competitions such as these was fully evident. Some 10,000 supporters made such an almighty pre-match racket that the official attendance was worthy of question. ![]() There is at least a degree of merit in that claim, even if Clarke is due slack on the basis of being the man to break his country’s barren tournament run.Įven confirmation of Tierney’s injury, a secret before the teams were announced, did not douse a tremendous Hampden atmosphere. Clarke stands accused by his detractors of being overly loyal to the players who took Scotland to the European Championship. There will be pressure on Clarke to rip up his team for the trip to Wembley on Friday when the Scots will find themselves in the unenviable position of needing something, anything, by way of points. Bluntly, and it was demonstrated again here, Dykes’s chance conversation rate is nowhere near good enough for international football. The Scotland manager was without Kieran Tierney, arguably his best player of recent times, but surprisingly opted to deploy Lyndon Dykes rather than Che Adams in attack. Nonetheless, there is already criticism wafting Clarke’s way. The image of Marshall leaping helplessly as Schick celebrated will inevitably feature in an already lengthy list of Scottish tournament calamities. Scotland had been reminded of the brutality of this environment, 23 years after they last featured at international football’s top table. The reality is that Schick produced a moment of outrageous skill, the like of which is unlikely to be repeated in the remainder of Euro 2020. Marshall attracted blame for his starting position, some 35 yards from his goal. Hendry was widely criticised for shooting. No sooner had the ball hit the back of the net, three seconds after it departed Schick’s left boot, than the Scottish inquest started. Schick ran towards the tiny contingent of Czech supporters, who had witnessed a moment of history. ![]() Schick’s goal was from precisely 49.7 yards – unsurprisingly a tournament record – in the kind of breeze that would make the world’s leading golfers adjust their target line. ![]() As the ball broke to him on the halfway line, he lofted a shot over the despairing David Marshall. The translation of Charles Brenton renders this as " rosin." ![]() The Greek word νάφθα designates one of the materials used to stoke the fiery furnace in the Song of the Three Children (possibly 1st or 2nd cent. In Ancient Greek, it was used to refer to any sort of petroleum or pitch. It adds that "those around Nehemiah termed this 'Nephthar', which means Purification, but it is called Nephthaei by the many." This same substance is mentioned in the Mishnah as one of the generally permitted oils for lamps on Shabbat, although Rabbi Tarfon permits only olive oil (Mishnah Shabbat 2). BC) tells how a "thick water" was put on a sacrifice at the time of Nehemiah and when the sun shone it caught fire. The word naphtha is from Latin and Ancient Greek (νάφθα), derived from Middle Persian naft ("wet", "naphtha"), the latter meaning of which was an assimilation from the Akkadian napṭu (see Semitic relatives such as Arabic نَفْط nafṭ, Syriac ܢܰܦܬܳܐ naftā, and Hebrew נֵפְט neft, meaning petroleum). Etymology White gas, exemplified by Coleman Camp Fuel, is a common naphtha-based fuel used in many lanterns and torches It is also known as Shellite in Australia. Nephi and naphthar are sometimes used as synonyms. In some industries and regions, the name naphtha refers to crude oil or refined petroleum products such as kerosene or diesel fuel. Generally, it is a fraction of crude oil, but it can also be produced from natural gas condensates, petroleum distillates, and the fractional distillation of coal tar and peat. Putter grips are a little trickier, especially if they have a collar but they can be done. This article needs additional citations for verification. I once tried the water-activated grip tape from Golfworks it's crap, and the only install that slipped on me.Īll this is why I went to installing grips with an air compressor easy on, easy off and they have never slipped. You will need enough solvent to activate the grip tape. 580 ID, I assume that's so they fit very snug. If this doesnt work, im gonna try isopropyl alchohol or lighter fluid. So tonight i put as much tape as i could fit under the grip and used as little grip solvent as possible. Im wondering if i had put more layers on last time. The Super Stroke that ive had issues with now, i had built up with tape on part of it due to length of grip and shaft taper. When i removed it originally (i took it off on purpose a year ago for a different grip) i didnt notice if they had put multiple tape layers on it or something. The factory grip that i put BACK on, was the first to twist after about 7 weeks. So i guess the real variable is the shaft/grip diameter as B brought up. Its the same tape as what i used with the ones in question and a different “grip solvent, but still a solvent and not something generic. No matter how hard i try i cant get it to spin. Checked a wedge that i gripped recently when i got home. |
